In an effort to prove that they have the best wireless network in the world Telstra has thrown the gauntlet down to the Federal government by rolling out turbo charged wireless broadband with 7.2 download speeds bursting up to 6Mbps. It also has super fast upload speeds up to 1.9MPs.
At press functions in Sydney and right in fronmt of parliament house in Canberra Telstra used skydivers to deliver maps that show that the new service covers 98.8% of Australia. To get a
access to the new 7.2 download service existing customers can get a software upgrade for their existing wireless hardware. But for the faster upload speeds one has to buy a new Sierra Wireless AirCard which is approximetly $50 more expensive than current Next G cards.
